Tap Into an Easy Way to Help Children in Need

Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 10:03 AM - Posted by Megan - (1) comment

Did you know that just $1 can supply a child with safe drinking water for 40 days? To help the millions in need, support the UNICEF Tap Project during World Water Week from March 19-23, 2012. It’s such a smart and simple concept—just pay $1 or more for the tap water you usually enjoy for free while dining out. With your donation, UNICEF will provide lifesaving water and sanitation to kids around the world.

Your $1 supplies a child with access to clean, safe water for 40 days, or 40 children with access to safe water for one day. Thousands of restaurants across the country are participating (click here for the full list), with notables in NYC including Annisa, Balthazar, Bar Americain, Colicchio & SonsL’Artusi, Rouge Tomate, Telepan and The Spotted Pig.

Since its inception in 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project has raised nearly $3 million in the U.S. and has helped provide clean water for millions of young ones globally. Now in its sixth year, the nationwide campaign aims to raise more than ever to help end the world water crisis.

Dine out, drink up and make a difference this week!
