New Year, New Recipes: Cookbook Giveaway!
Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:01 AM - Posted by Megan - (16) commentsHappy New Year! It’s amazing how quickly twelve months flies by, but I can say resolutely that 2012 was one of my most delicious years yet. And whether dining at a new restaurant, eating my way through a food festival or whipping up something in my kitchen, I’ve been beyond fortunate for the opportunity to share my past year’s adventures in food, and love of all things culinary, with each of you. A sincere thank you for indulging me.

So begins a new year, a new chapter…with new resolutions. And if eating healthier, cooking more at home, or trying new foods tops your list for 2013, then Cooking Light’s The New Way To Cook Light is just the resource to help you get cracking on those resolutions—and stick to ‘em! With over 400 bold-flavored, accessible recipes (including Soy-Citrus Scallops with Soba Noodles and Honey-Wheat Pizza with Pear-Prosciutto Salad), this standout cookbook demonstrates that eating lighter and healthier doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor. Cooking with fresh, seasonal, high-quality ingredients and using the proper seasonings makes all the difference.
“Fully delicious is what interests us…Millions of Americans are now excited about food that is local, global, authentic, fresh, slow, organic, heirloom, heritage, artisanal: real food.” -Scott Mowbray, Cooking Light Editor in Chief

Congrats Wendy, you've been selected as the winner! Please send me your mailing address at: megan@thisgirlcaneat.com. Thanks again for entering! :)
My resolution is eat more locally grown, fresh foods. Thanks, great giveaway!
Very true, Lins! I have my go-to sides/veggies too, but there's so many other options out there to keep meals interesting & fun. Thanks for commenting :) xoxo
There ya go, Monika! Really good one, since many store-bought, prepared foods are loaded with sodium and preservatives. Homemade is best!
A great reminder to switch it up from quinoa and broccoli!! Gotta keep it interesting :) xo!
My resolution is to transform my store-bought staples into homemade, healthier options
LOVE it. I am the biggest believer in eating locally and seasonally. The food is the most nutritious & delicious, plus it's always great to support area farmers and purveyors where you live. Nice one!
Absolutely, Wendy! Meal planning makes weekly shopping so much easier and your nights less hectic & healthier too. Fantastic resolution!
So fun! Eating more salads on my list this year, too. Truth be told, I don't love all salads – but if you pack them with tons of yummy ingredients, they can be far from boring. Enjoy! :)
Way to go, Leslie! You are a true champ, good luck! :)
I've set a goal to work out five days a week and eat at home more often (eat out for a family meal only once a week). Also to eat one fruit with breakfast, 3 fruits or vegetables at other meals.
my resolution is more consistent menu planning – so much easier to eat/cook healthy when I plan ahead!
we are having a challenge where we eat at least one salad a day – we even had a salad kick off party! every person brought an innovative salad and shared recipes to get us inspired!
Eat more locally grown, fresh foods.
Happy New Year, Danielle! Those are two very good (and attainable) resolutions – best of luck with sticking to them! :)
My resolutions are to cook at home more often and eat a veggie or fruit with every meal.
