Thrillist Feature: The 12 Best Old-School Diners in NYC

Friday, July 1, 2016 at 01:07 PM - Posted by Megan - (0) comments

New York City crushes the fine-dining game, but sometimes the only way to curb cravings is by visiting a classic, old-fashioned diner. There’s something timeless and nostalgic about a no-frills (and no-res-required!) spot where you can order everything from fluffy banana pancakes to a classic griddle cheeseburger to a malted chocolate milkshake — and all of it at 2am.

Sweet Potato Pup Fries

Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 03:10 AM - Posted by Megan - (2) comments

Baked sweet potato fries are one of my favorite, easy-to-make fall side dishes. Topped with cinnamon and spice, this sweet and savory accompaniment is a perfect counterpart to many cold-weather entrées. Bursting with high levels of Vitamin A and anti-oxidant Beta-carotene, sweet spuds pack a nutrient-powered punch for dogs too and are known to aid in eyesight health.

This simple recipe is for a delicious dog-friendly version of my baked sweet potato fries (obviously sans the sprinkles of sea salt, black pepper and cayenne that I typically douse my taters with). These flavorful homemade treats are filled with natural goodness and Cooper didn’t hesitate in gobbling them right up.

Sweet Potato Pup Fries Recipe (makes about 1 cup)
